Hair straighteners

Last time I went to Vegas my GHD hair straighteners would not work. Is there some sort of converter I can buy, not an adapter.

Converters do not work very well, if at all, with appliances that heat up. Many straighteners have a warning on the box or in the directions (if you still have either) warning NOT to use them with a converter.

The better bet, if you really need one, is to purchase one after you arrive in Las Vegas. Depending on how particular your needs, you can probably pick up an inexpensive model at Walgreen%26#39;s, CVS, or someplace in one of the malls.

Or, if available where you live, a dual voltage model, so that all you%26#39;ll need is a plug adapter.

My GHD straighteners worked with the adapter in New York and Los Angeles

my GHD puchased in Australia didn%26#39;t work, but a friend from Londons did. i found this strange as mine works in london!?!?

i ended up buying a basic $15 straightner that did the job for the trip and have kept it to take back this time.

I would buy some when you are there, they will last then for all your future trip to the USA. There is no way you will get anything that should run on 240v to be of any use only drawing 110v.

The newer ghd mk4 have universal voltage, so they will work in the us the same way as at home. The older ghd%26#39;s don%26#39;t have this feature.

Thanks for all the advice. Last time I was there I did buy some cheap ones but they dont match up to GHD, but still better than nothing.

check with the manufacturer, or maybe go to a local beauty supply shop that sells them and ask.

I am a religious hair straighter, and suggesting that suehartlepool go buy one at the store for her trip won%26#39;t work, ones you can just buy at any old shop don%26#39;t compare to professional brands at all($15-20 cheap ones compared to $100-200 pro ones)
