Valley of fire

We are considering The Valley of Fire for a day trip. How far is it? Worth the trip? We have been to Red rock Canyon and thought it was great, how does The Vally of fire compare?

Valley of fire

VOF is better! It%26#39;s about 60 miles up 15 which allows 75 MPH once you are out of town. Bring lunch and drinks to picnic at the Seven Sisters area during your tour of the place.

VOF took us about 50 minutes from the strip. Be sure to take your time there, and be sure to take the road up from the Visitor%26#39;s Center, this area is gorgeous. I agree in that you MUST take water or something to drink with you when you%26#39;re there. There%26#39;s water at the Visitor%26#39;s Center, but this was not enough for us the first time we were there. I would also hit up Hoover Dam on the way back if you%26#39;ve never been there before. This all can easily be done in a day. We left the strip at 11 and were back by 5 - and this was with an extra trip to the Shelby Museum.

Hi

Valley of Fire is really good, been twice, you can enter via I15 but leave the other end if you like and return via Lake Mead and Henderson.

I don%26#39;t think there is any compariston. Valley of Fire is so much bigger and so much more spectacular. RRC is good of hiking- their trails are more difficult. But if you are looking for knock-your-socks-off scenery- VOF is the ay to go. You can hike on some of its short trails and even have lunch there. Be sure to wear closed shoes and bring lots and lots of water. It is sooo worth the trip.
