Bellagio or Venetian (or wynn?) ?

HI all,

Im sorry for posting something thats been asked a lot already, i have done a search and read all the threads about it, but am very confused as im not just asking a for straight comparison/preference, there are lots of factors and i wanted some of your opinions really.

We are going on our honeymoon in August. Monday 10th we arrive at 6pm and have booked a celebrity spa suite at MGM, then we drive out to Grand Canyon Tuesday morning, and are back wednesday evening. We have four nights. Originally wanted to stay at the venetian, but recently saw the bellagio salone suite for $239 a night, so we have booked that. But we are still looking at rates to see if venetian (or bellagio) goes down. If venetian does go down significantly, we will probably book it. Even $239 is a little out of our budget but we thought we were getting a good deal for our money since I have read that these suites used to run at $400 pre-credit crunch era.

I wanted to ask which people thought would be better for us based on the fact that:

We are 25 years old,

The pool is not important to us - we are not planning to be in the room much during the day, as its our first visit to vegas and we may not be back for a long time,

we will not be dining in really expensive restaurants (and we have small appetites compared to USA big portions!) so it would be nice to be somewhere where there is a choice of cheaper restaurants/snacks/food court,

I have read bellagio is TOOOOO crowded becasue of the conservatory/fountains, because its bellagio - we dont want to have to push through crowds etc, or would it be the same in venetian?

We will want to see all the main hotels on the strip, doing a lot of walking, so location is quite important

Bathrooms? Which one is better/bigger/more luxurious out of venetian normal room and bellagio salone suite?

Rooms? Which one is better/nicer from venetian normal room and bellagio salone suite?

Hope you guys can help me and give some insight. There is also the wynn which is pretty good rate at the mo $224 for a resort room - but the reason im not too keen on it is because i feel it may be too far out and it will be too expensive in the hotel if we are too lazy to get food/gamble/shop outside and want to grab something quick from the hotel.

(not even considering encore since its EVEN further on the strip!)

Obviously goes without saying if the venetian/palazzo doesnt lower its rates then we wont book with them.

Thanks guys!

Bellagio or Venetian (or wynn?) ?

oops also forgot to mention - we would like to go to a club one night? Either of the hotels do free passes for their club for hotel guests?

Bellagio or Venetian (or wynn?) ?

My wife and I just returned from LV last week (celebrated my 50th birthday, stayed at Palazzo). Based on your postings I suggest Venetian, even if the price is a bit higher than you%26#39;re confortable with. Hey, its your honeymoon! Venetian bathrooms are definitely larger than Ballagio%26#39;s. I like the Venetian rooms better than the Ballagio%26#39;s in general. On our last visit we got a free pass to Venetian%26#39;s TAO nightclub (even though we didn%26#39;t use it, not our scene).

Venetian rooms are all suites, the room %26amp; bathroom are larger with high end amenities. You have better choices for reasonable eats. You have the Grand Lux which has lots of reasonable choices %26amp; very good. You also have the gondola ride which is very romantic since it%26#39;s your honeymoon. The Venetian will fit your honeymoon feel a lot better plus the rooms are very nice.

Wynn is a great choice, the rooms are huge with high end amenities %26amp; have some reasonable places to eat like Zoozacrackers which is like a NY deli, or Café at the Drugstore which has classic breakfast but it%26#39;s pretty far north on the strip only bad feature.

BTW, I forgot to mention that Venetian has a sunken living room which is very nice for relaxing.

thanks pruske - but im trying to compare the venetian normal room with the bellagio salone suite - i thought that room was bigger than the venetian one? So thats why i asked about the bathrooms if anyone knows what the bathroom in the salone suite is like. becasue i have the heard the bathrooms in the venetian are really nice.

Londongirl - first and foremost congratulations on your forthcoming wedding/honeymoon.

I can%26#39;t talk about the salone suite as never stayed there - this year I%26#39;m booked into the deluxe at Bellagio with the fountain room as our kinda treat for the trip but for the rest of the stay we%26#39;ve been more budget conscious with our accommodation.

Last year I stayed at the Venetian (trip treat) and WOW!!!

I am yet to see anything in the UK or Europe near comparable and I would jump at the chance to stay there again. They had a promotion out which was something like room rate = outside temperature last August so we ended up paying about $103+tax per night which was a steal for the room I stayed in. Apparently it is their basic room/suite which has been recently renovated but if that is a basic room I expect to see Queen Lizzie herself in the upscale ones.

I%26#39;ve stayed in a number of London hotels and they don%26#39;t even register on the richter scale.

This is your honeymoon and only you know if you can afford to spend the extra $$$$$$%26#39;s on the room or having a blast. There are photographs and videos available on this site to help you further.

Whatever you decide, have a fantastic time.

For a quick bite to eat, you can%26#39;t beat Venetian%26#39;s location. The food court is extremely close. For a reasonably priced good for everything restaurant, the Cafe Luxe is also steps away after you exit room elevators.

They also have an abundance of restaurants that are open during lunch hours (Pasta for under $20 each). Also close to a place like Dennys.

If you guys don%26#39;t feel like going anywhere and want to stay at one place, the Venetian is definitely the hotel with the most to do.

When Bellagio opened in 1998 it raised the bar on luxury hotels in Las Vegas. The rooms and the bathroom were very nice. But the bathroom wasn%26#39;t a central feature, even though it was nicer than most.

The next year Venetian and Mandalay Bay opened, and in addition to having larger rooms both of these gave the bathroom greater emphasis. And all of the luxury hotels, both on and off-strip have featured really nice bathrooms. Just part of the evolution of Las Vegas hotels. So if the bathroom is important to you I would recommend Venetian.

Also after Mandalay Bay, all the newer hotels also have floor-to-ceiling windows, which Bellagio does not.

Of course Wynn is newer so it has more of the modern luxury design, including both luxury bathroom and large windows.

Don%26#39;t worry about location. Does it really matter to you if you stay at Venetian and walk to see Bellagio, or stay at Bellagio and walk to see the Venetian %26amp; Wynn? You%26#39;re going to want to see both as they are major tourist attractions no matter where you stay.

Sorry, meant to say ';all the hotels built since both on and off-strip...';

HI all - thanks so much for ur replies!!!

Sounds like venetian would be better suited to us and it was our first choice but rightnow the rooms are $269 and thats way too much for us when we can get the bellagio salone suite (and wynn resort room which is at normal price $224) for cheaper.

However, I have just been put into confusion as someone has sent me an offer they received in their email for wynn which is working out at $144 a night plus $50 resort credit, and even though its my last choice of the three (becasue its further north, not many cheaper food options etc) it is working out about $400 cheaper than the room we currently have booked in bellagio which is VERY tempting - now i dont know what to do!!

Anyone able to give any thoughts/share their experiences on the wynn? i.e. how did you find it in terms of cost of things, distance from all other hotel, and how about the atmosphere - i get the feeling it is more bland like its not themed etc so it might not feel very ';vegas';???

thanks all - sorry to be a pain!
