I felt obliged to try one last year when I stayed downtown. I am not a germaphobe or a cry baby about cleanliness, but that snack bar at the Mermaid was the most disgusting kitchen I have ever seen.

You batter anything and fry it. Try the fried oreo also!

Heres the menu with southern fried twinkies. After a meatloaf with mayo or fried bologna sandwich, mac and cheese, a fried twinkie and white trash with money drink, its a non stop to the cardiac unit!!!

I saw one of these for sale in one of the casinos at fremont st, but again the hygeine issues made me lose my appetite.

I should had tried it at Hurrahs!!!

Have a look I was curious too, then I saw what it was and have totally been put off trying it, it looks disgusting.

Just returned from Vegas and made my first trip DT. Mermaids was pretty disgusting. I wanted to try a twinkie, but the smell in the back near the kitchen was so gross I had to pass. Guess I will have to live without experiencing the fried twinkie.

They also pop up at state/county fairs so hopefully there might be a cleaner twinkie near you.
