What businesses watch you in Vegas?

Apparantly ALL of them, lol.

Since coming back from Vegas Monday, all but one business I used has emailed me.

Wynn sent me a thank you, and a number to call for future visits

Monte carlo send me a survey to give them feedback for my stay.

Mirage noticed I gambled there (Just to cash in our points on the cards before they expire) and sent a points email.

Southwest just sent me an email asking...well I forget, cuz my emails down...lol

All but Palazzo, where we both lost about $100, sent me thank you emails.

Good follow up ';Big Brother';!

What businesses watch you in Vegas?

I got a thank you from Wynn and from Palazzo for getting their players cards. I got a thank you and a survey to fill out from Bellagio and a nice thank you letter from the M.

Low, I was in the Mirage briefly to gamble, got nothing from them!

I also got an email Thursday from Bellagio offering 3 comped nights between now and mid May.....wish they%26#39;d extend the date to June 4th!

What businesses watch you in Vegas?

all businesses where you use a card or some other identifier.

this is quite common in all businesses - including my local supermarkets

many times i do not use my player%26#39;s card if i don%26#39;t want the casino knowing i have been playing

Oh, I thought this had something to do with the mirrored ceiling you had in your suite :)

LOL Warmwinds, that would be Caesar%26#39;s Palace in the good ole days!

Probabaly the FBI CIA INS Secret Service who knows who else

Sometimes it may be in your best interests if they know. For example, if you start running up various charges on your credit card (particularly if it is an overseas account) it may get flagged as possible fraud and your account could be frozen. In this case it%26#39;s worth a phone call to cardholder services to confirm you will be away from home and using your card at restaurants, hotels, stores, car rental, etc. It happened to me once and it was rather embarassing since I knew I was within my spending limits and current on my monthly payments.

But yes, I always seem to get a survey or thank you e-mail from those establishments that have it. Last time I actually gave what I thought was constructive criticism on check-in for the MGM, but I never heard back from them whether they agreed with me or not!

lol Warmwinds!

Strip? I did see something from you last time I was there. It was in the round file, Lmao %26lt;ducking%26gt;

not many. I am not in the habit of giving everyone my mailing and email addresses.

Dont do that and you wont get tracked.

To me the free cocktail sometimes isnt worth the hassle.

I dunno Low, do e-surveys really get printed out and then thrown in the trash? So I can add ';the MGM should be more green'; to my next survey? :)

I simply wanted to point out to them that I think having 20 different queues for check-in doesn%26#39;t work well, especially for me, who habitually picks the slowest-moving line at the supermarket, Target, you name it. I think they should go to something more like the taxi line at the airport-one line, and you wait for the next available agent. I also pointed out that the Stardust had self-checkin 6-7 years ago, as does their sister property, the Excalibur. It%26#39;s not new technology. Just my $.02 to help make my favorite hotel even better!

So, the next time you get a survey about a recent hotel stay, treat like it%26#39;s your opportunity to make things better, not just whine and complain that the elevator stopped at every floor, things over which you really have no control.

Trip Report 3/29 - 4/2

Flew Allegiant out of Peoria, IL. Awesome airport to fly out of. ';You a terrorist?'; ';No sir'; ';Okay go head then.'; Last hour of flight was rough, Nervous flyer but several whiskeys did the trick.

Tried the $20 trick at the Flamingo. Had booked Deluxe room, they were willing to upgrade me to Luv Tub room for addtl $30 per night. Been married 22 years, there will be no luv in the tub. Great move as we only spent an average of 6 hrs in room each day. Stained carpet with cigarette burns but no bed bugs...I checked. Very quiet as there were a lot of fossils staying on our floor.

After check in we went to Ellis Island as I read great reviews. Major let down. Tight VP and $5 single deck BJ table which paid even odds on BJ! Tried to tell me what a great deal it was cuz they would pay me double on a diamond suit BJ. NO thanks, cashed and left. Great hot dog at the next door 7-11. Stopped at Bill%26#39;s on the way home, found a 5 cent VP machine and won $120! Not bad for a nickel.

Next morning got the spouse up at 5:30pm, she was none to happy and said I may have a small gambling problem. Bought 24 hour pass and rode the Deuce to Slots of Fun, played $2 BJ and won $55, Pit Boss said she would rate me if I wanted to play $5 a hand. Too cheap. Who wants to stay at Circus Circus anyway although I love kids...if there cooked right. Anyway, gave most of it back to VP. Little Advice: always watch a few hands prior to sitting down at a table as stupid players can cost you $. From Slots we Deuced Downtown and hit the El Cortez for the first X ever. Forget the great reviews, this place sux. Don%26#39;t mind losing my $ss, but at least provide me with some free beers while I am doing it. Slow and unfriendly service. $3.25 per beer in this dive! Hit all the other DT casinos and had a great X. Much more fun to gamble DT then on the Strip. Exhausted and in bed at 11:30pm

Up at 5:10 the next morn, shoot, shower and a shave and off to Bills where I hit my VP machine. Won enough for breakfast. Service and food were just OK. Hit Flamingo and Ballys with no luck and then Deuced it DT. Note to self: Ditch the Deuce and take the tram when traveling the Strip, definitely worth the extra $2 and a lot less stressful %26amp; time consuming. Ate at Hennesseys (sp?) Tavern (The Pint) which was a total rip off. Order of hot wings $9.95 for 5 wings which were bloody inside. Waitress took them back, took off the tab, but never asked if I wanted more? $5 beers, WTF? Wife did well on Butterfly slots at one of the bead casinos. Great service, strong drinks and people who could be their own father. Good times!

Back on Deuce to Slots O Fun. Played BJ with 6 Canadians and had a beauty of a time, Ay! Those boys can drink some beer. 20 oz Miller Lites for a $1. Lost $50 but Slots is a hoot.

Next day, got up a little later due to the $1 beers at S.O.F. the night before, hit the Flamingo buffet. Pass this below average meal up. Walked thru the garden with the fish and birds. Very cool, must see. Laid out at pool and then Deuced to Sahara. My spousal unit did well on the Wheel of Fortune game. She was due! Worked (walked) our way back to Flamingo hitting every casino on the way. Did OK @ Casino Royal. $1 Michelob and well drinks. Nice. From Flamingo, we monorailed to MGM %26amp; went to Hooters for wings. Very busy but food was good. Lost #ss in VP. Signed up and got the $100 free slot pull. Obviously nobody wins but the coupon book you get is definitely worth it. Great deals on food, lodging, etc. Trammed back to Flamingo and played one last X at Bills winning $31. Hit 4 of a kind 2 out of 3 hands, went to bed at 1:00am.

Up at 4:15am for 7:50 flight. What moron booked this departure time? Slept most of the way home. Have already received free room promo from Harrahs via email. I Love Vegas!

Trip Report 3/29 - 4/2

Great report Blago. Thanks for the tip on Hooters, will definately check that out for the free slot pull and coupon book.

';got the spouse up at 5:30pm, she was none to happy';

LOL. Even though you obviously meant am, the thought of someone being ticked off with a 5:30pm wakeup call is pretty funny.

';Up at 4:15am for 7:50 flight. What moron booked this departure time?';

I know what you mean. It%26#39;s only taken me 7 trips to Vegas to finally book a later flight home.

Trip Report 3/29 - 4/2

Nice post Blago,

Chalk one up for us beer guzzling Canadians!!!

I%26#39;m headed down on the 13th, and will hit Hooters and get that coupon book.

Cheers

I really enjoy a trip report that makes me laugh...good job and sounds like you had fun.

If you buy the ACG there%26#39;s a coupon in the back for when you sign-up at Hooters for $200 free slot play. Worth the price of the book itself. $15 or so I think.

LOL, love this report, made me laugh. Going in 2 more sleeps. If you think Canadian boys can drink, ah, Canadian women drink them under the table :)

LOL

Thanks for the trip report. Sounds like another fun time in Vegas.

This TR is a ruse!! Blago was in Florida with his family!! j/k Nice TR

Dee1967 doesn%26#39;t tell a lie,

Canadian girls have put me under the table more that once. And while there doing it look at you innocently, as if immune to any law of physics. Even worse, in the morning you%26#39;ve got a rancid hangover; she says '; Cmon, get up we are going for a hike today';.

I tell you there something encoded on the DNA of Canadian girls!

Cheers

Great TR

Luv Tub room for addtl $30 per night. Been married 22 years, there will be no luv in the tub. LMAO starting with this line.

Best Vegas Pool with shade

Going in August ,thinking Madnalay Bay or Mirage. Have been to MB , great total pool experience. How is Mirage for shade ? Considering staying somewhere else but really would like some shade. I know Flamingo has large pool area a lot of trees but unsure of the rooms. Suggestions ?

Best Vegas Pool with shade

Mirage offers a little more shade than MB, mostly around the edges of the pool area. MB used to have more shade but MGM has removed a lot of the foliage to put in cabanas.

Flamingo has even more shady areas than Mirage. But very simply, everything else there is vastly inferior to Mirage.

Best Vegas Pool with shade

All pools offer shade at some spot throughout the day.

Besides shade what does ';best'; mean to you?

A cabana might work for you - guaranteed shade.

Not a party scene, comfortable lounge, nice pool and surrondings but ability to get out of the 115 degree heat to some shade. Fewer very young kids the better ! A cabana would be nice but pretty expensive would rather gamble the money ! How are the rooms at Mirage vs. Mandalay ?

For a pool with comfortable lounges, shade and less kids head to Wynn - all the others will have kids, especially if on the week-end before school breaks for the summer and all summer no matter the DOW.

when is your trip?

BF is right, Wynn is the only place you can go to avoid kids and have a quiet environment. There are other adult pools, but they are meant to be more party scenes.

The Mirage rooms were recently renovated, but do not compare with those at MB. They are at least 100 sqft smaller, and the bathrooms are much smaller. And if it matters they don%26#39;t have the floor-to-ceiling windows like MB.

Either going last week in July or first week of August , going to see what%26#39;s going on in LV before i decide.

';...last week in July or first week of August ...'; kids galore - sad to say.

Wynn all the way. With summer pricing rates should be OK. Any other place with a ';good pool'; will be overrun with kids whose parents think LV is a family destination.

Here%26#39;s a quick list of the best Las Vegas hotel pools. I%26#39;m not sure which ones would have the best shade though.

Question regarding Presidential limo pick up time...

Just about to make my reservation on Presidential, and I notice that they suggest you have the car scheduled to pick you up 2.5 hours before your flight time.

Is it really necessary to leave that far in advance of your flight? I%26#39;m staying at the Bellagio, and if I recall, it is not too far from the airport?

TIA

Mitzi

Question regarding Presidential limo pick up time...

It depends on when you are leaving. We left Mirage on a Friday early afternoon and had them get us almost 2 hours ahead of time. It took 15 minutes to get there, 15 to check bags and 20 to get through security which was longer than usual. I imagine a Sunday would be a lot worse.

Question regarding Presidential limo pick up time...

Thank you! I will be leaving on Friday morning, and I guess its better to be early than late! lol

We were picked up at The Palazzo 90 minutes before our flight early on a Saturday morning. It took maybe 15 minutes to get to the airport. Conversely, when we arrived in LV, the ride to the P was probably 45 minutes. That was on a Tuesday, about 5 in the afternoon.

I am one of those people who likes to get to the airport early- 1 1/2 hours early. It drives everyone I travel with a little bit nuts( I only have carry on) but I feel better getting there and just relaxing until I board. There is plenty to do at the airport. And I do give the machines one more chance to be my friend before I leave. lol

  • acne scars
  • weather in April

What is the weather like in April in Las Vegas?

    weather in April

By the end of April pool weather is virtually guaranteed. First half of the month can be unpredictable and changeable so checking a forecast immediately before your trip is the best advice.

    weather in April

Mostly clear skies but chilly air temps, you might get some rain in there now and again so keep checking the weather reports..

ooh I%26#39;m so excitied! We%26#39;ll be in Vegas 26 - 30 April and I was really hoping for some sun! We are also off to the grand canyon am I right in thinking it will be a lot cooler than Vegas?

South Rim at Grand Canyon National Park (I%26#39;ll take a guess that that%26#39;s where you%26#39;re heading) is at a far greater altitude than Vegas so is always quite a bit cooler. At the beginning of May expect daytime highs in the high 60s or low 70s against the mid 80s that you%26#39;ll probably find in Vegas.

hi we went to the grand canyon around the same time that you are going we stayed over night and found that it was a little cooler from around sun set i would take something light but with sleeves just incase.

We%26#39;ve been in Vegas twice toward the end of the month of April. The first time was gorgeous, sunny, HOT (compared to here) in the 80%26#39;s every day. The second time, I went by that like an idiot, and only brought shorts. I FROZE! It was WINDY and cool, 50%26#39;s every day. Mostly sunny, but fat lotta good that does ya when all you have is shorts and tees!

The temps can be all over the place in April and what it is like one year has nothing to do with what it is like any other year. One person%26#39;s experience is really not much a help to you. I was in Vegas in April for about 8 years. Some years I was able to swim, some years only sunbathe and other years it was so cool/cloudy/windy I could do neither and had to wear a sweater/light jacket during the day.

Average high temp-74(beginning)/82 (end). But the highs can range from the 50s/60s to the 90s. April 22, 2003 the high was 95;April 30th, 1999 the high was -56. Lows-50 to 58 but can range from the 30s to the 70s. You are going to have to check a weather site just before leaving to see what the temps are going to be during your visit.

Always bring some clothes that can be layered (sweater and a light jacket) so you can be prepared for any type of weather. The weather forecast can(and did) change while I was there. And don%26#39;t forget the bathng suit.

I%26#39;m going in April also and was wondering if it%26#39;s hot enough to go to the pool, would the water in the pool be warm enough or will it be icy cold?

Most have heated pools. But-if it is cool/cloudy/windy using the pool could be a challenge. Make sure your clothes are close so you can throw them on quickly if it isn%26#39;t that warm. Even getting out of a Jacuzzi has been challenging at times.

  • Porn Slappers. Leave them alone!!!!

OK I forgot to add this little story to my TR

But first anyone who hasn%26#39;t started reading BRguy%26#39;s TR, it%26#39;s funnier than h3ll!!! and the forth installment talks about the dangers of porn slappers.

We were walking along the Blvd by MC and this one guy was having his hand shook to death by his girlfriend. Porn slapper cards were flying everywhere! Up in the air, out in the street, everywhere!!!

    Seems this guy wanted a small collection for himself, and the girlfriend started at ';non too happy'; to ';Downright pizzed!';

The look on their faces was priceless!!!!

Guys? Leave the porn slappers alone if you%26#39;re with your girl =)

    Porn Slappers. Leave them alone!!!!

I would do more than shake his arm/hand if my guy did that...

If he did it alone and I caught him??Out with the pliers:)

    Porn Slappers. Leave them alone!!!!

I%26#39;d sooner push them all up in a big pile with a road-grader and have a truck come in and haul them off to the dump where they belong.

This comes from not wanting to be annoyed, not because I am some sort of prude. I can%26#39;t stand those guys and my wife just seeths whenever we have to alter our own path just to steer clear of those dudes.

Let%26#39;s the ladies know they can be easily replaced!!! Normally less expensively also! Viva the Porn Slappers!

    Waspkiller,

    Didn%26#39;t you see ';Casino?!'; LOL!

Porn Slappers...hmm, what that must look like listed on a resume!

My hubby collected a huge amount of cards when we were there in Feb. We are in the process of mounting (adhering) them and putting them in 8 x 10 frames for our guest bedroom in preparation for our wayward single male friend who is coming to visit. Ya gotta love the dollar store for allowing us to pull off this joke inexpensively.

Porn Slappers IMO are higher on the food chain than timeshare people. :)

    racinaround . . . that%26#39;s HILARIOUS!!

Hubby brought some home one year for the guys at work. Didn%26#39;t bother me one hoot! He can look . . . just can%26#39;t touch!

On my trip I made friends with them having a right good old laugh! I collected 32 different cards for my ';all things Vegas'; collection!

Instead of thinking the porn slappers are annoying....try a smile and collecting a few cards...heck I collect the room keys, match books, fridge magnets, casino chips and all other sorts of tatt....why not the hooker cards!

    cheers

shirl%26#39;.....live and let live I say!

DW always laughs when I get the cards. I almost always get them when they are being handed out and always say thank you.

BTW, the cards are nice to have when DW goes on an overnight business trip.

Want fun try giving them a card in exchange?

    %26lt;cringecrotchcover%26gt; at Sandy%26#39;s pliers remark!!!

    inexpensive dining mid-strip

Inexpensive - comparatively speaking, of course!

I posted a little while ago about staying in the Flamingo. I%26#39;m looking to make a list of fun, good, inexpensive places to eat in nearby. For instance, when I stayed at MGM, I really enjoyed going to %26#39;wichcraft. I already know I enjoy Margaritaville. Not looking for places like Denny%26#39;s per se, but coffee shops with good food or deals, and take out places and some sit-down restaurants in the area we will be staying.

    Ideas?

    inexpensive dining mid-strip

    I like %26#39;wichcraft, too :) AND Margaritaville :)

Try the Victorian Room at Bills, Toby Keith%26#39;s I Love This Bar and Grill at Harrahs, Caribe Cafe at Mirage, sandwiches from the Roasted Bean at the Mirage, Augustus Cafe at Caesars, the food court (Cypress Marketplace) at Caesars.

    inexpensive dining mid-strip

Pepper Rose at Harrah%26#39;s has some great subs. The meatball sub is fantastic.

I read that Planet Hollywood has a Pink%26#39;s hot dog stand now. Anyone try it?

    Cheesecake factory - yum!

    Dick%26#39;s.

There%26#39;s an Earl of Sandwich in the Planet Hollywood casino next to Paris.

Grand Lux Cafe in the Venetian.

Also Maggiano%26#39;s in Fashion Show Mall

Thanks! Keep them coming. I%26#39;m also looking for ways to save with coupon books if anyone knows.

Maggianos at the fashion mall across from the Wynn hotel. Get half orders of the chopped salad and pasta dish of your choice. This is enough for two people. The waiter will talk you out of full orders if your not locals or have a refrigerator in your room for the left overs. ENJOY!!
